Works like it's supposed to August 10, 2007 Reviewer:  Hi (Orange County, CA)  See all my reviews >

This product is great because you can view both analog and digital channels over-the-air. I did purchase a small outdoor antenna that is designed to receive digital signals to improve digital reception. To record digital TV programming, you must record onto DVD, not the VCR. I like being able to view my old VCR tapes and record analog channels, and still be ready for the future switch to digital only over-the-air TV in February 2009.

I actually purchased a similar DVD/VCR combo with a digital tuner made by RCA and the product couldn't tune into digital channels well, the sound "crackled," and it stopped playing VCR tapes after less than a month. I returned it and bought this Panasonic model and it works just as advertised. I've always had good experiences with Panasonic VCRs in the past (always more reliable than JVCs, Sony, etc.) and this product is no exception.
